Republicans change their tune on releasing Mueller report

Republicans spent weeks calling for the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, but now they're changing their tune. In the aftermath of Attorney General William Barr's letter to Congress, Republican senators and congressman alike urged for transparency. Even President Donald Trump said, “Let it come out. Let people see it.” But Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee vote to authorize subpoenas for the report passed along party lines. The following day, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blocked a resolution calling for the report's release, the fifth time such a resolution was blocked by Republicans in the senate, and then delivered an impassioned speech on the Senate floor full of conspiracy theories about the investigation's origins.
